چکیده
T ueday, M arch 8, 2017 Fasciocutaneous flaps were favored for foot wounds (p<0.01), whereas muscle flaps were favored for tibial wounds (p<0.01), Gustilo grade IIIb injuries (p<0.01), and wounds with exposed hardware/bone/tendon (p=0.03). Intraoperatively, fasciocutaneous flaps were associated with lower estimated blood loss (p<0.01). Increasing 17-year trends were noted in the use of fasciocutaneous flaps (p<0.01).

Long-term outcomes following a single corticosteroid injection for trigger finger.
BACKGROUND The outcomes of corticosteroid injection for trigger finger are well documented only with short-term follow-up. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the long-term effectiveness of a single injection and to examine predictors of success up to ten years after injection. METHODS This case series analyzed 366 first-time corticosteroid injections in flexor tendon sheaths f...
متن کاملAssessment of Decisional Conflict about the Treatment of Trigger Finger, Comparing Patients and Physicians
Background: As an early step in the development of a decision aid for idiopathic trigger finger (TF) we were interested in the level of decisional conflict experienced by patients and hand surgeons. This study tested the null hypothesis that there is no difference in decisional conflict between patients with one or more idiopathic trigger fingers and hand surgeons. Secondary analyses address ...
متن کاملComparison of the Short-Term Treatment Outcome among Watchful Waiting, and Soluble and Insoluble Corticosteroid Injections in Idiopathic Trigger Finger
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the short-term result of local corticosteroid injections in the treatment of idiopathic trigger finger between previously reported proper amount of soluble and insoluble steroids; dexamethasone sodium phosphate and triamcinolone acetonide, and also aimed to compare these results with that of the patients who did not undergo the corticosteroid injection as...
متن کاملSurgery versus ultrasound-guided steroid injections for trigger finger disease: protocol of a randomized controlled trial.
INTRODUCTION Trigger fingers have been reported in the literature for over a century; yet, the lack of trials comparing open surgery to corticosteroid injection is pronounced. At the initiation of the present study in 2010, no randomized controlled trials could be found comparing open surgery to corticosteroid injection. In the present randomized controlled trial, we plan to compare the efficac...
متن کاملبررسی تاثیر کورتیکواستروئید خوراکی در درمان انگشت فنری بیماران دیابتی
Background and purpose: Evidence suggest high prevalence of trigger finger (TF) in diabetic patients. Corticosteroid injection in the area of tendon sheath thickening is the first-line treatment of choice for TF. However, some studies indicated low efficacy of this method in diabetic patients. This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of oral corticosteroids in diabetic patients with ...
